Driving Miss Thorne

I can't believe where all the time is going.

I shall be busy as a bee next week, begining any of the preparation that I might need for the trip. Well as everything in my life, I shall leave it a day or two before I go. Isn't that half the fun??????

I'm going and that's it.

Oh and I have found a flatshare til I go, it's lovely.

Really really cold here in Merton today, too cold. Why aren't I driving into the sunshine of some Arizonian desert? There is a film crew over the road again at Pizza Hut, was wondering if I might go over and nose around. Mind you, can't see it's a big budget movie scene with 'A' listers can you? Nah, probably a scene from The Bill but more likely a training video for Pizza Hut delivery boys.

Well that's occupied a few minutes whilst I'm waiting for my Singapore Noodles Jim gave me for lunch to zap in the microwave..........

Hmmm, yes well, it's Valentine's Day is it?

So you lot, it's 11am and I am not surrounded by chocolates, flowers and cards yet.........

Look I'm not interested that I don't have an address, landline etc.

getmetickets.com

Oh dearie dearie me. Michael Rangos and his particularly unsavoury mouthed wife are ordered to attend the High Court in London on 22 March 2006.

Now this unscrupulous couple are the Directors of getmetickets.com .net whatever else, and many of you may be familiar with the debacle that was Reading Festival in August last year. Sadly still today there are many people waiting for tickets they paid over the odds for very recently and will never arrive. The company is now in Receivership and it is being decided what the Gruesome Twosome will be charged with.

We'll see, we'll see. Looking into my crystal ball I suspect it won't end there, I have this feeling that more is yet to come for these two...........

Sky

Just a quickie.....

I'm trying to make sure all my affairs are in order and I thought I'd mention the lovely Scottish lady I spoke to earlier at Sky. Like so many companies these days, Sky has a frustrating automated process of numbers to press before you get to speak to someone. I finally got through to 'The Lovely Scottish Lady' and she was great, very personable indeed.

Thank you for being patient and helpful

The Big Send Off

I am close to my trip now and am excited at the prospect of travelling all those miles, be it by motorbike, car, push bike or foot.

It really has been a long time coming.
As I have mentioned I have learnt and relearnt many things about myself since the start of this project and keeping my interest going during the darker moments has been tough. Many a time recently I've thought, damn it, just forget it and find a well paid job and nice house. But I'm still going and about to burst into action once again.
I don't think I've ever waited so long for anything in my life, certainly not a man!!
So to help me on my way I am having a few drinks on 1 April, venue to be announced. I hope you will all be able to make it, I'd love to see you all. The memory will be there with me in my darkest moments during the trip. I'm sure I'll have times when I feel quite lonely but I can then pull your images from a folder in my mind.
Besides you have to come if only to say, 'Oh for God's sake just go.............'

A bed for the night

Can I just say a massive huge enormous 'thank you' to:

Natalie, Alex and Connor
Mandy
Karen, Colin and Rachel
Karen and Simon

They have been wonderful and have put up with me to date, providing solace in my time of need and all that.

Thanks XXXX

Wherever I lay my hat

Mr Darcy I am indeed undone.........

Dahlings, my life has always erred on the side of fabulous but now it is becoming wonderfully simple once again.

Cast off all those chains and make a bid for freedom......just do it...it's better than sex.........

Well maybe not but it's pretty close!

Just need a home for all my hat boxes.... Mother's suggestion of storing them in her garage is as absurd as her notion of us living on Mars in the near future. Mother, they are worth a freaking fortune and they will NOT gather dust and mould in your garage, no matter how desperate I am.

Mind you the image of me living in doorways with a shopping trolley full of my hats, fighting off the meth breath occupants of neighbouring doorways is one to save in a small folder in the back of ones mind....
