The bridges of Madison County....

....went by

Dear UK
Hurrah, I'm here again.......

They let me in. Actually there was a young hip English black dude in front of me at the Immigration Control and just when I thought I was about to pass out with all the mucus swirling around in my head, a big burly uniformed man escorted him away from the counter and into a big glass fronted room where he was seated next to his mate. For some reason I was stressing that they would give me a hard time about coming back into the country and was convinced it was to be me in that room.

Honestly I actually felt sorry for the 2 idiot boys, they were less prepared than I was. Strutting their stuff, never a good thing with humourless officials, I always find babbling humilty works a treat.......

The flight was far better than I could hope and I was ensconced in my hire car without delay. Fleeing Miami I went straight to Melbourne Beach again, spent lovely night there and am now in Tallahassee. Yep I like it and won't be heading for the bridge this trip..........

I'll catch up with all the news tomorrow as for tonight I'm off to the bar to see what and who I can find. Nah only kidding! I'm full of thick green phlegm and can't face talking to anyone tonight, just want my bed and television.......

Interesting little fact: did you know that Tallahassee is the Capitol of Florida? No I didn't know that and I'm sure there may be one or 2 of you who didn't either, you can't all be clever so and so's.........

Despite my cold I'm glad I'm back and so excited now I've got to Interstate 10, just heading West.

Drat, just looked at my nails under the bright light and my nail polish is all chipped and that means a trip to CVS. Ah hang it, who cares............

xxxxxx

Who sang that song about jumping off the Tallahassee Bridge? What's the song called. 50c to the first person who tells me.......

Glad to see you got back safely. As for the song its a much misquoted one as it is indeed Bobby Gentry in his 'Ode to Billy Joe' but it was actually the Tallahatchie Bridge. Another peice of useless info courtesy of yours truly! Have a safe journey hun xx

Damn, is that not the same place then??? Where is Tallahatchie then?

I have crossed many bridges and some that seem to go on forever. Driving into Lafayette today I think one was actually 18 miles long! Lots of swamp land I guess.

Patricia - i did enjoy Florida and Alabama, Missisippi and now Lousianna
