Bond
Dear UK
Sun is shining and so is my hair.......
Some of the lads have arrived back from their extended duties. Jim Bob, Jimbo, Jimmy whatever, isn't back til tonight. Got stood up last night, call to arms and all that. Who'd be a services sweetheart? Not me, I'm the one that dictates not good ole Bush. Damn man he gets everywhere.......
Anyway whilst Jimmy went off to crack corn I decide to go out still to have my steak and see the film as planned. So I went to a place called Pinnacle Peak which is a themed steakhouse in a Western village just off Tanque Verde Road here in Tucson. I understand it's a sort of chain as I overheard other guests talk of the ones in Scottsdale and San Diego.
Anyway I had a Cowgirl dinner. Basically TBone steak, beans and bread. Oh yeah I had a baked potato and a Margharita (yes I use an 'h'). Well I had a lot of stares, getting kinda used to it now. It's the 'woman on her own' thing that seems to make some people a tad uncomfortable. I just smile broadly and carry on.
Anyway, the steak. Cos I was on my own and not likely to see any of those good people again, I chowed down good and proper. Getting in and amongst the bone and chewing and sucking on it was de-lish-us. I seemed to offend one table nearby as one of the men was staring almost jaw open for most of the time. A lady, whom I guess was his partner, kept hitting him and glaring at me as if I was performing in a porn flick.
You know me, it just made me worse........
I ate my supper, enjoyed the atmosphere, wiped my face clean and stode into the village outside. Old western style shops and even a shoot out.
Having walked off my dinner, well not really but I felt a quick shimmy round the place might help, I jumped in the car and headed off to the cinema. Or theatre as they say here in America. Guess that's from the days of picture theatre....
Wantd to see Deck the HAlls but didn't want to have to wait the 35 mins so I went in to see Casino Royale. I thought it might be nice to hear the English language again........ sorry you lovely Americans!
Do you know what, I liked it! Yep, I liked it. The first Bond since Sean Connery that I've liked. How weird was that! I know the hype was against this Bond but I think he's good. He looks like he can actually do the stunts, that he can take care of himself and others. Believable, finally. Not a prissy little pouting prat who I know I could punch out. Oh and he's fit too, with a twinkle in his crystal clear blue eyes. Who'd have thought it, me finding a blonde man attractive!
The downside; the theme song. Who the hell was that?! Weak song and definitely too weak a voice. It needs real power. Oh and 'The Girl'. Weak too I'm afraid. Were they trying to make sure no one else was stunning so that it all helped this new Bond keep the screen? He's an actor so his presence was strong anyway.
Watching a film in the States is always an experience. BE FUCKING QUIET! They do love their action movies clearly. And why not just take a nibble inside, why take a whole meal? Go and eat afterwards, everywhere is so cheap, what's the problem? Oh yeah, you all have to do everything NOW!
Right at the last minute a man jumped into the seat beside me and munched, very noisily, candies, popcorn etc. AHHHHHHHH

Sorry about the stares you got. Americans are weird sometimes, we don't mean any harm. I hope you like your time here in the states.

Hi Tan - Sounds like you are having a ball (or two!). How are you doing with the list of MUST DO's that people sent in (Kiss from every male, business card from each male, 1 x piece of intimate apparel from each male - and so on?
You also have to do the Drive in Movie bit, with young ladies on rollerskates serving pop corn and Pepsi whilst watching the film from the back seat with a 'friend'! They dont know who you are so its worth pushing the boundaries just as you did with the T bone!
Loads of hugs and go get 'em girl!

C-Dell - apologies accepted, but not necessary. Just let me know why??! I'm having a blast in your United States. I love it and if it wasn't for my Grandson I'd try and live here.
Martin - Oh I forgot about the Must Do's. Blast I might have to make up for it now I'm here. Bettter check the Noticeboard.....
